Staff

Green Glen Equine Hospital is staffed with a talented and diverse group of equine veterinarians.

Wade A. Wisner, V.M.D.

Dr. Wade Wisner was raised with his two brothers at the farm where the hospital is located. The family has strong ties to thoroughbred racing and breeding.  Growing up he was active in pony club and would often spend time with his father on calls or in surgery.

Dr. Wisner received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware and went on to graduate from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 1992.  During his time at New Bolton Center he spent extra time studying sports medicine.  After vet school he came to work for his father and Dr. McCubbin at Green Glen Equine Hospital. Within veterinary medicine, he has developed a strong interest in Sport Horse Medicine and Surgery as well as lameness and acupuncture.  He enjoys the variety that every day brings from treating foals and breeding mares to corrective dental procedures.

He took over the hospital in 2002 when his father, Dr. Allen Wisner, retired.

When Dr. Wisner is not working he enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife and two children.

Mark E. McCubbin, D.V.M.

Dr. Mark McCubbin received his BS from Pennsylvania State University in 1973. After graduating he continued his veterinary studies at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1977.

Dr. McCubbin is retired.

Jennifer L. (Karl) Hayes, D.V.M.

Dr. Jennifer Hayes grew up with horses in Northern Ohio.  She was very active in 4-H and competed at the national level in horse judging, horse bowl, and hippology contests.  Dr. Hayes also devoted a lot of time to showing and competition with her horses.  She attended the University of Findlay for her undergraduate education and pursued a dual major in Biology and Western Equestrian Studies.  Dr. Hayes then attended The Ohio State University for veterinary school.  During her professional career, she has worked for equine veterinary practices in Pennsylvania and Ohio.  Dr. Hayes’ professional interests include lameness, laminitis rehabilitation, dentistry, and reproduction.  She also places a strong emphasis on preventative medicine and a whole-horse approach to care to help horses and their humans.  In her free time, Dr. Hayes enjoys trail riding with her husband, Greg, and spending time with her own horses and dog.

Beth Hochreiter, D.V.M.

Dr. Beth Hochreiter is from Erie, Pennsylvania. She grew up riding and showing hunter ponies and horses. Dr. Hochreiter did not always know she wanted to be a veterinarian but always knew she wanted to work with horses. She obtained a BS in Biology from James Madison University in Virginia. She attended Ross University for veterinary school and completed her clinical training at Oklahoma State University. She worked in private practice in Virginia before completing an internship in equine medicine and surgery at the University of Missouri. Dr. Hochreiter’s professional interests include diagnosis and treatment of equine lameness, ophthalmology and equine dental health.

Mary Riordan, D.V.M.

Dr. Mary Riordan grew up riding hunt seat and teaching horsemanship to Girl Scouts in Western Massachusetts. She majored in Animal Science at the University of New Hampshire and received her DVM from Tufts University. After veterinary school she completed an internship and a year as a clinical instructor at Tuskegee University. She then worked in private practice in Georgia before moving to Pennsylvania. Her professional interests include internal and preventative medicine. At home she enjoys spending time with her spoiled cats, running and collecting model horses.
