Green Glen Equine Hospital has been performing surgery on our equine patients for over 40 years. The facility is equipped to handle the unique surgical needs of your horse with a dedicated surgery suite and padded recovery stall. We use state of the art equipment as recommended by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists to closely monitor anesthetic gas delivery, cardiac activity, arterial blood pressure, blood oxygenation, ventilation pressures and respiratory CO2 levels. This allows us to continually evaluate the horse throughout the procedure and adjust to the needs of the patient in order to minimize the inherent risks of anesthesia.
Some of our more common procedures include arthroscopy, retained testicle removal and soft tissue surgery. Other surgeries include resolution of foal related problems, such as umbilical hernias and treatment of limb deformities, as well as enucleations (and other eye surgeries), repair of complicated wounds, revision of old wounds, and mass removals.
