About Us
Facilities

In 1968, Dr. Allen Wisner started Green Glen as a mixed animal practice on his 74-acre farm in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania. A few years later he decided to devote his practice exclusively to horses. Initially engaged in racetrack work, Dr. Wisner was the sole practitioner at Green Glen Equine Center for almost 20 years before hiring his first associate veterinarian, Dr. Mark McCubbin. Dr. Wade Wisner took over the practice from his father in 2002.
Green Glen Equine Hospital has been performing surgery on our equine patients for over 50 years. Our newly renovated facility is equipped to handle the unique surgical needs of your horse with two new induction/recovery stalls and a state of the art surgery suite.
Our building, though outfitted with the most current veterinary technology, remains one that is warm, inviting and retains its original farm charm. We are proud of our tradition and pledge to remain true to our small town family business values while implementing cutting edge veterinary medicine and technology for our clients.
Some of our more common procedures include arthroscopy, retained testicle removal and soft tissue surgery. Other surgeries include resolution of foal related problems, such as umbilical hernias and treatment of limb deformities, as well as enucleations (and other eye surgeries), repair of complicated wounds, revision of old wounds, and mass removals.
We also offer hospitalization for intensive management of cases in our hospital stalls. This allows us to more closely monitor your horse’s condition and provide superior medical therapy by adjusting treatments as needed. For those needing long term hospital management, we utilize our turnout paddocks and round pen.
